July 2023 - SUMMER

Happy July!

After a brief flurry of activity-graduation, birthdays, travel to visit family on the east coast, it has been a very creative time here in my studio. If you follow me on instagram, I have been silent because in my case, social media and creativity don't always go hand in hand. Summer is a great time to paint flowers! Every summer, this beautiful- rather romantically named flower, Lily of the Nile (Agapanthus) blooms here in Houston. I am fascinated by its various shapes/forms. It has led me to my desk and closer to the desire to paint what I see around me.

ON MY DESK

Flowers, flowers and more flowers...All these will be available in my shop soon.

Have you seen these paintings in my shop?

Erin and Chris Benzakein are flower farmers with a farm in the Skagit valley in Washington State. I have loved watching 'Growing Floret' on Max.

I absolutely have to visit the High Line next time I am in NYC! Designed by Piet Oudolf, a Dutch landscape designer who designs the most beautiful gardens that end up looking like paintings, in my opinion.
What makes a garden a work of art?

Also, how beautiful are these wildflowers!

Until next time,

May 2023 - SPRING

Welcome to May!

So much for Spring! It feels like summer weather here in Houston, Texas. But everything is blooming and that makes me very happy and want to paint.
